Although the debut fell short of the 2016 reboot, Ghostbusters: Afterlife [GHST4] came close with an estimated $44.0 million to lead the weekend box office. Families made up a third of the audience, which should be good for legs over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Eternals [ETRNL] was dethroned to second place with $10.8 million, bringing its total to $135.8 million after 3 weekends.
Clifford the Big Red Dog [CTBRD] declined 51% in its sophomore session to $8.1 million for a running total of $33.5 million.
King Richards [KRICH] debuted in fourth place with just $5.7 million. The audience skewed 59% female and 81% over the age of 25.
Dune [DUNE.BW] rounded out the top five at $3.1 million and $98.2 million overall.
