Disney owns the Thanksgiving box office once again as Encanto [ENCNT] led the way with an estimated $27.0 million over the 3-day weekend and $40.3 million over the 5-day holiday weekend. The animated film score an A CinemaScore.
Last week’s champ Ghostbusters: Afterlife [GHST4] fell 44% from its debut to $24.5 million. The sequel has captured $87.8 million.
House of Gucci [GUCCI] opened in third place with a better than expected $14.2 million and $21.8 million since Wednesday. Females made up 60% of the audience.
Eternals [ETRNL] finished fourth with $7.9 million in its fourth outing. The Marvel film has banked $150.6 million.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City [RESE7] rounded out the top five with a $5.3 million opening weekend and $8.8 million 5-day total. The zombie reboot was poorly received by its audience which skewed males at 64%.
Clifford the Big Red Dog [CTBRD] brought home $4.9 million to bring its total to $42.9 million.
King Richards [KRICH] slipped 39% in its second set to $3.3 million. The biopic has earned $11.4 million.
Expanding wide to 1128 theaters, Belfast [BELFS] took in $970K. The drama has totaled nearly $5.0 million.
