First trailer for The Fighter

Paramount has released the first trailer for the biographical drama The Fighter [FITER] on Apple.   Mark Wahlberg [MWAHL] stars in his usual underdog role as real life boxer "Irish" Micky Ward who rose Rocky-like to a championship title.   It's Invincible meets The Wrestler.   Hopefully director David O. Russell [DORUS] and co-star Christian Bale [CBALE] could lift the material from the cliches typical of the Invincible into the awards-worthy level of The Wrestler.

The Fighter will open in limited release on December 10th before expanding wide the following weekend on December 17th.
