Oppenheimer [OPHMR] also held up in its second weekend, decaying just 44% to $46.2 million. The biopic sits on $174.06 million.
Haunted Mansion [HMNSN] opened in third place at $24.2 million. The horror comedy attracted an audience that was 59% female.
Sound of Freedom [SOFRD] took in another $12.41 million in its fourth outing, bringing its total to $148.97 million.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One [MISS7] grossed $10.73 million in its third weekend for a running tally of $139.23 million.
Talk to Me [TLKTM] debuted in sixth place with $10.03 million. The A24 release connected with both critics and moviegoers.
Insidious: The Red Door [NSID5] earned another $3.18 million, bringing its total to $78.08 million after 4 weekends.
Opening in 581 theaters, The First Slam Dunk [TFSD] scored $626K.
Joy Ride [JOYRI] grossed $84K in its fourth weekend for a sum of $12.85 million.
