The theatrical business is far from dead as the animated sequel Inside Out 2 [INOU2] hauled in an estimated $150 million, the second highest opening for animated movie of all-time behind Incredibles 2’s $182.6 million in 2018. The Pixar flick skewed female at 62% with Hispanics making up 40% of the audience.
Last weekend’s champ, Bad Boys: Ride or Die [BADB4] slipped just 42% from its debut to $33.0 million. The sequel has banked $112.24 million after 10 days.
The Garfield Movie [GRFLD] scratched another $5.0 million to advance its total to $78.53 million after 4 weekends.
The Watchers [WATCS] declined 48% in its second weekend to $3.67 million. The horror sits at $13.67 million.
IF [IMGNF.BW] took in $3.45 million in its fifth weekend to cross $100.9 million.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga [MMAX5] earned $2.43 million to bring its total to $63.13 million after 4 weekends.
Expanding to 654 theaters, Tuesday [TUESD] took in $292K to bring its total to $325K.
Opening in 650 theaters, Treasure [TRESU] grossed $244K.
