This year's Thanksgiving weekend box office was the biggest ever, led by a record-breaking opening from Moana 2 [MOAN2], which debuted with an estimated $135.5 million over 3-day and $221.0 million over 5-day. The animated sequel beat The Super Mario Bros. Movies’ 5-day opening record of $204.6 million as well as Frozen II’s Thanksgiving 5-day record of $125.0 million. Females under 25 made up the biggest quadrant at 42%, followed by women over 25 at 29%.
Last weekend’s top film, Wicked [WICKD] banked $80.0 million, down just 29% from its record opening. The musical adaptation has accumulated $262.42 million in 10 days.
Gladiator II [GLAD2] declined 44% from its opening to $30.7 million. The action sequel has collected $111.21 million after 2 weekends.
Red One [REDON] delivered another $12.90 million, down just 2% in its third weekend to take its total to $76.06 million.
Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin [BNHFR] dropped 52% from its opening to $2.40 million. The faith-based film stands at $9.75 million.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever [TBCPE] tallied another $3.28 million, bringing its total to $32.00 million after 4 weekends.
Heretic [HERTC] grossed $957K for a fourth weekend total at $26.82 million.
Anora [ANORA] booked $360K in its fourth weekend of wide release to advance its total to $12.72 million.
