Mufasa: The Lion King [LION2] underperformed expectations with just $35.0 million, well short of $191.8 million from The Lion King in 2019. The prequel brought out an audience that was 53% female.
After 3 weeks at the top, Moana 2 [MOAN2] finished third with $13.1 million to bring its total to $359.0 million.
Wicked [WICKD.BW] banked $13.5 million in its fifth weekend to up its haul to $383.9 million.
Homestead [HMSTD] opened with $6.07 million. The post-apocalyptic actioner appealed to a Middle American crowd that was 53% male.
Kraven the Hunter [KRAVN] tumbled 72% from its debut to $3.10 million. The comic adaptation sits at $17.44 million.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim [LOTR4] also dropped 72% from its opening to $1.27 million. The animated film has totaled $7.37 million.
Gladiator II [GLAD2.BW] grossed $4.45 million for a sum of $153.9 million after 5 weekends.
