FilmDistrict has unleashed a redband trailer for the remake of Oldboy [OLDBO], the South Korean tale of vengeance directed by Chan-Wook Park. Spike Lee [SLEE] directs the Hollywood version starring Josh Brolin [JBROL], Samuel L. Jackson [SLJAC] and Elizabeth Olsen [EOLSE]. The remake introduces the search for his daughter into the storyline, while preserving the infamous hallway fight scene with the hammer that has already been imitated in many other films. Oldboy arrives in theaters on October 25th.
An advertising executive is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.
