Playing & Trading Strategy

Seems like there are quite a few new players these days. Here's an old post (revised) with my "top 10 starter tips" for small ports.

There are many strategies and tips out there for various port sizes.  However, for quick advancement, a basic foundation needs to exist.  Trial and error works, but it is the slowest method availalbe.  Thus, I offer these 10 TIPS for STARTING PLAYERS to consider.  Read from Tip 1 to Tip 10, as they follow each other (bottom to top).

Tip#10 - Kaigee's webpage is your best source for starbond futures.

Razorhawk also publishes a "pre-adjust bond show" and "post adjust bond show" as well as starbonds of the day/night/week etc...  These are very good tools.  HE is an excellent resource and will take the time to explain things for you.  I am a product of his instruction (and a lot of players around here are).

His league is highly recommended for new players:  http://www.hsx.com/league/view.php?id=265

Tip# 9 - Use the HSX fan sites and Movie Forum to assist you in making decisions. Prediction web sites are also out there... beware that a single point of analysis = a single point of failure
TIP # 8 - regardless of how big you get, DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH A LOSING STOCK! Everything in your port is for sale at some point.
Tip#7 - Free money is good. Play the "Earn H$" Games. Chance at up to 70K per day = 490K per week = 1.9 Mil per month = 25 480 000 per year of FREE money. Now, you won't win all the time, but it's still free money...free money is GOOD.
TIP#6 - you haven't made a penny until you exceed 2% growth on your investment. Then, you only break even.
TIP#5 - Watch out for the 1% commission. It hits you on both ends. Therefore, every sell/buy or flip is 2% more. Be sure that whatever trade you are doing is worth the 2%.
TIP#4 - dabble with the OW adjust if you want, but starbonds are where the money is after the adjust. Be sure to buy a couple/few weeks out for the big returns. The next week is usually a low $gain, but 3 weeks out or so and there are lots of H$ avail.
TIP#3 - Big movies have LOW DROI. Don't try to play with the big boys until you are one.  A 1$ gain on a movie stock worth 100$ will net $100 000 profit.  A 1$ gain on a movie worth 5$ will net a $100 000 profit.  But you can buy 20 movies at max shares at 5$ or one at 100$.  20 movies with a 1$ profit will net you $2million profit.
TIP #2 - one "word": DROI (Daily return on investment). Maximize this and you maximize your moolah!
TIP#1 for new players: EVERYTHING is a short term investment.

good tips, but not much detail. like how do you pick stocks that will have high DROI? or how much movement do you expect b/c news on a movie Fitch3k Aug 25, 11:41
