I make an initial decision when I buy a security at IPO whether to hold long or short. Every now and then I sort my portfolio by gain/loss to see if I have any stocks that I am losing a lot of money on. I specifically look for shorts that are going the wrong way. Then, when a movie gets close to release, I check it out to see if I am still holding it the right way. If I have to, I make a change. If not, I hold it until delist. There are probably stocks I have held from IPO to delist without changing position. On Thursday afternoons, I double check the options for the weekend to make sure I am holding them the right way. I almost always go long on Blockbuster Warrants. I use Kaigee.com for bonds. I pay close attention to NominOptions and AwardOptions. I buy every fund. I always max out every purchase because I have well over H$1 billion in cash. I don't play the TV securities because I don't watch TV, unless I see a recommendation from RazorHawk. Maybe once a year I go through every stock on the exchange and check whether or not I own it, and if I'm holding it the right way. I try to check the Announcements Board at least a couple of times a week to see if there is a security that I need to buy, sell, or reverse position on. Same with the list of most active stocks. Every now and then I check out what Roger Moore is posting at HSXSanity, and I pay attention if Mr. Binns says something about a particular bond. That's about it. It's working out well, I'm currently in the Top 100 LTD. Good luck with your study!
