Yes, lots of cash laying around right now, but I'm waiting to get a clear sense on CARIE, CNJUR and NSID2, all of which have 2013 release dates, and other smaller ones like KRSTY and JESAB. So I should be using some money on those in the near future.
As you can tell I basically play on dated movies, I'm not good at determining value on long term projects. Even then, horror movies tend not to be so buzzy, so long term play might be futile. From a few weeks ahead of opening, and on to delist, it's usually pretty straightforward in terms of strategy. Either if it's a hit or a bomb, it will likely be a post-adjust short.
Now on LBIBB, the key here is that she is dropping IRNM2, and as long as her next dated adjust is a horror movie, I will be holding her. Right now there's a wrapped IPO that just appeared, so her elegibility for SPOOK might be gone as that one gets a release date, but either way it should continue to slowly drop towards her next adjust. With all the cash I have, and so little investment oportunities, I see no reason why I wouldn't tie up 1.4M on a sure investment (while elegibility permits), even if dROI isn't that great.
THOLL is not a sexy investment, I know, but I shorted him as soon as BYZAN got a date, he was trading 3 points over his TAG, and is expected to drop another 3 on adjust, it looked like good money. Again, with so much cash, I'll take this kind of starbond oportunities as they come. Truth is THOLL's 700K investment is not a worry for me.
Overall I think it should be a good year for the horror genre, which should help out the fund's prospects. I employ such a different strategy with the fund, compared to my personal port, so it's always a work in progress.
The fund IPO'd on Halloween last year, so I missed the (usually) most active month for horror movies, so my plan is to have this one delisted before october. So if I decide to return for another run, I can get it IPO'd on time for the Halloween runs.
I think I'm doing alright, as long as I'm ahead of RH's AFRAM, since that's the other fund with the closest IPO date (one week after SPOOK). Nice little competition I have with him, even if he doesn't know about it... :)
