Understanding move stock demand

I don't understand what affects the price of movie stocks when there is unlimited supply. If a real company were to IPO, the public would know exactly how many shares are outstanding. I get the adjustments based on opening weekend, but the IPO price and flux after are still a mistery. Please explain.
