First, you have to read the glossary for the meaning of TAG, which is the whole basis of StarBonds (Celeb Stocks)
This is a point to point game. Each delisted movie creates a matching of price to the new TAG. So, if MOVIE delists on Aug 24, and ASTAR is attached to MOVIE, then the TAG for ASTAR is recalculated on the evening of Aug 24 and the CURRENT price for ASTAR is adjusted to match the new TAG.
What does that mean in English? If ASTAR has a price of 20 and the new TAG is 25, then it will adjust UP to 25. If the new TAG is 18, it will adjust down to 18. After the adjust we will look at the next adjust based upon the next movie to enter the TAG for ASTAR. That could be in a week, a month or even years.
All of this does not occur in a vacuum. We can see the adjustment coming and can plan for it. I will use a concrete example from next week.
TBNEL is attached to FANT4. As disappointing as the box office of FANT4 is, in the calculation of the TAG, FANT4 (55.69) will replace SNKMG (0.15) in the TAG. That is because when there are 5 movies in the TAG, the oldest of the five drops out and the new movie that just delisted is moved in. THus, the total box office for the 5 movies in TBNEL's TAG will increase by the difference, about 55.54. The formula says divide by 5, so the TAG will increase by about 11.11 next Tuesday. Currently, the TAG is 1.03, so the Estimated Adjust Price (EAP) will be about 12.13 The dROI is a really good 1.92 pct. and the difference is about 2.46 Why only 2.46? Because players have been buying this StarBond for a long time and it has moved from TAG of 1.03 in February to the current 9.67
So, now PAY ATTENTION. The movie has been moving lower, as a short, but the BOND is a LONG. It will be untlil the value of the bond reaches or exceeds the EAP. So, intuitively, you cannot say a poorlly performing movie resullts in a short on the bond.
Now it is hard to create and maintain a chart to do all of the calculations for all of the 1400 StarBonds. We have always had great volunteers in the community who have online sites to help you. As mentioned above, KaiGee has a great chart, which he updates frequently. The other one is How Profitable. Your can find the links in the community section.
Like any tool in your tool box, you have to learn how to use them. My suggestion for StarBonds is to start with adjusts one week or 2 weeks away and work your way further. Look at the dROI as that is the most efficient use of your H$. A bond with a big adjust a long time away does not help as much as one which may be a smaller gross amount but will adjust soon.
Try a few that adjust soon and you will get the rhythm. If you have specific questions, do not be afraid to post them.
Have fun, this is, after all, a game.
