How do "double adjusts" work?

Example: Today SCOOG had two movies adjust, one up and one down. It finished down from yesterday. I had it short, but did the SB go up $49.57  and down $49.72 to settle at present price?

Could I have put a limit order in to sell at the high price and short it from there?
