Thanks, pathm:
Honestly, it is nice to finally get an impartial, unbiased reponse!
Not to repeat myself, but I was never bragging of any success I may have had over 10 years, just simply noting that suddenly it was all unraveling.
You know, from 1998-2000 I played HSX, investing mostly in StarBonds that caused me to lose money, and I read 'Tools of the Trade' (from HSX Community tab part of the site) to diversify and invest heavily into MovieStocks.
Truthfully, up until the other night (when I sold EVERYTHING), I owned dozens of StarBonds...as a percentage of gain, none of those compared to the percentage increases I've had in StudioFunds, but one is far more limited to participate with Derivatives or StudioFunds than StarBonds, and one is far less able to participate in StarBonds than they are in MovieStocks. But again, I owned far more StarBond securities than everything else combined.
So, yes, there have been gains with StarBonds...by way of H$ not as much as MovieStocks but when I lose money in StarBonds it's far greater than the losses from ANY other category of securities.
And, not for nothing, but why does there need to be an 'adjust' in the first place? I mean, if Idris Elba is in a movie that was released recently and didn't do so well, okay, then the MovieStock loses value when those who own some of it sell some or all of it, or short it, or sell some or all of their shares of Idris Elba or others short him--all of these would logically make sense for the value of his StarBond to decrease. But for HSX admin to just automatically drop his share price by $8 or $9 a share overnight because a movie that he was in delisted makes no sense--especially in the real world of investing. Thus, both as a percentage gain and as $H profit I was up considerably on IELBA then overnight I lost H$56K.
Am I guilty of not knowing what this was and also for not seeing it coming months in advance as you say? Yes, I suppose I am...but I guess the alternative for the 1+ million HSX players is to NOT hold ANY StarBonds for very long.Ā
True, this was NOT because of some HSX billionaire with 'multiple ports' that did this, just a show from HSX admin that once and for all there is ZERO connection between trading here and in the real world. Stocks or bonds or commodities or mutual funds or options don't get 'adjusted' in the real world. In the real world, if there are more sellers (shorts) than there are buyers (long positions), then the price goes down and vice-versa. Honestly, why can't HSX operate that way with ANY of its categories of securities?
By the way, have you heard the latest crazy explanation as to why dozens of my other securities declined massively in the last 3 weeks of August? Well, some of the crazies on here claim that HSX is ONLY played in the Summer! That's right! I heard from numerous folks that many players cash their ports out at the end of the summer. Yet another 'brilliant' (NOT) comeback for those who either don't understand HSX or are hiding something.
