Playing & Trading Strategy
It is rude, negative and pessimistic...if I were to do that, I'd be blasted by every HSX billionaire on this board.
But instead, I'll respond with my usual long yet cordial explanation:
My rank usually has a "-" next to it, otherwise it says "0". When you're in the top 10 percentile, advancing ranks is a bit more slow moving than when your port is say, less than H$100 million...seems not as exciting I know.
With the exception of last Summer (August in particular), my 10+ year old port has only ever gone up in percentile, whereas my daily rank fluctuates a bit.
FYI: Yesterday I bought 20K shares of a MovieStock that was up quite a bit for the day and was only a couple of dollars a share. This morning I log-in to see a 5-figure loss on that security. This is all within a 24-hour period, and this is no rarity either.
So, I can stick with modest gains through HSX games (which ensures me of at least H$20K/day plus the chance at H$50K for Classic Cash + the $8K+ I make daily through interest), or I can sometimes add another security to my holdings and risk the absolute carnage that HSX has become in the last year.
Once and for all, I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud--I honestly don't believe that buying or shorting and then holding any security aside from Derivatives and select Studio Funds will actually lead to anything other than serious losses and all on a daily basis.
Last Summer, I was criticized for not "learning the rules of the game." Are you kidding me? The "rules" (beyond the basics that I just described with simple holding of short or long positions on MovieStocks and StarBaonds) have changed. "Successful" traders flock to certain leagues and particular HSX fan sites (such as KaiGee) and trends are created from what is posted. What was up massively for the day is down just as much minutes later.
That and being on this site far more than the 20 minutes I normally allow myself per day...I truly believe most of the HSX billionaires stare at that ticker below for many hours out of the day. Why? I'm not sure, because in real life the ROI (Return-On-Investment, which in this case, is your time and effort put in) isn't worth it. It's a game, and I have yet to see a single post from anyone on this very board in HSX Forums ever show true transparency as to their actual trading strategies. But if you're looking for praises for HSX billionaire milestones, there is a long line of those just waiting for their chance to express their worship! Vanity. Status.

You're not the only one who plays it, but I don't keep a running list...

You are spending too much energy on the wrong part of the game... in order to make profits you need to invest in more stocks and bonds.

you had multiple accounts doing coordinated trading; you impersonated me on the boards; your other accounts have been muted or deleted

You made H$80k today. Good for you. I made H$1.7m today due to StarBond adjusts. Doesn't take a genius to figure out whose strategy worked

You didn't choose to stay on the sidelines, you were banned. You're playing the victim and blaming others again, when you're the problem.
