Can someone explain how the IPO stock price movement works?

3 million shares owned / 20 million+ shares shorted, yet on its first day of trading the stock is up 10%?

Once the price was allowed to move (usually midnight) more people started buying. New IPOs can be volatile in the first few days. bsbbtnh Jul 09, 05:47
