embarrassed to ask: What is MTC/RS?

I've gathered that they forecast weekend earnings for films, but despite all the ranting about MTC and RS in the movies forum I can't seem to find any sort of link or even the actual words that the acronyms stand for.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?
