To have a fund that is called the Short Fund, just because it shorts stocks of actors, or movies is not really a 'theme'... it's more a style of play (shorting everything).
Remember that Funds are designed to show newer players how to build a port by stocks that the Fund Manager invests in (within it's 'theme') and how or why this Fund is running well, making money, etc.
If you go and read the 'themes' of many of the funds, you'll find a common thread about them...they are unique in some way to HSX (actors over 40, movies about history only, etc) and they have Fund managers that have experience playing HSX with their own personal ports.
Anyone could run the Short Fund...all they would need to do is short everything, there's no skill in that...no experience needed to run this fund, and there would be nothing that it would teach players about the game - anyone can short stocks and cover them over and over again, and lose money by paying commissions.
I'm not criticizing your idea, but merely showing you why the Funds that HSX has are what they are...a unique idea around a theme, experienced players running the funds, and the idea of allowing players to invest in them to see HOW an experienced player would invest in various stocks...
I think if you would look at some of the Funds HSX has, you would see 'why' they are the funds they are.... and NOT just a fund about a style of play... they all have some type of 'theme'... and shorting is not really a theme..it's a style of play.
Hope that helps...
