in several ranks (been playing since 1998) when the stock volumes switched... I don't know if it's because those in front of me bought more, or they've increased the numbers of stocks they've held which gives them further distance when these go up or down...
I've found since shares increased to 75K that my swings are much bigger on some days...I'll find that one day, I'm down $3M, then the next day I may be back up $2M again, and then another $3M the next day... this was 'rare' for me prior to the share increase... some days, I'd only be down $300K or so, then on 'good' days I'd be back up $500K...sometimes $1M.
I'm not sure of the reason for the larger swings now.. perhaps with more shares, more stocks, and with prices changing by a penny, it means I have more stocks swinging one way or another...
I'm very curious to see what happens when shares go up to 100K. So many of us for so long with large ports have WANTED the share amounts to go up.. but now that they have, I'm finding my LTD rank has dropped, and now I'm hovering about 25 places lower than where I used to be prior to all this.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when 100K shares kick in...I'm hoping I'll get back the 25 places I dropped, but I'll be surprised. I'm not even sure that I'll have enough $$ to buy the extra 25K shares on many of the stocks I own now... hahaha.. my $600M in cash that I used to have has been cut in 1/2... and where I used to think I had a lot of cash sitting around... that no longer is true.
I like the fact that the halts will be on Saturdays now... the way it used to be... may give us time to sell off movies that we hold long if they didn't do well on Friday, and short them - which is something we couldn't do in the olden days when halts were on Saturdays, but HSX didn't offer shorts in those days!
How things here have changed.
