Ok, let's say you shorted A1PTSN (Social Network for Best Picture) for example...

as I type this it is priced at $2.20. if it were to win, it would cash out at $25 meaning you would lose $22.80/share (25.00 - 2.20). so, if you were holding 20,000 shares short, you would be down $456,000
