I get the "smart alecky" dialogue perhaps. But regardless of the vibe I get from any of them, Hemsworth is no Downey Jr....at least not unless he proves it to me with this performance. I think it is probably a good, competent flick that may resonate overseas well because it is directed by a Brit and it is based on a Norse legend albeit set in America...oops and Asgard.

Citi cuts rating on Disney stock. Claims HSX estimates on [THOR] and [CAPAM] are $100M too high. not2fast Apr 26, 11:41

I'll take some of whatever they're smoking. {nm} Scorpion Apr 26, 11:53

Not The Onion. {nm} ty97 Apr 26, 11:55

that's where they were a couple months ago, since they have just gone down. {nm} ndmaster Apr 26, 12:02

CAPAM is still too far away to put a more narrow range on the opening; Thor definitely feels more like an Incredibe Hulk type of start xiayun Apr 26, 12:03

Even with the opening you state in your IM, HSX isn't 100 million off. {nm} Scorpion Apr 26, 12:24

Thor feels alot like Iron Man in its mood. It feels nothing like the Hulk to me. {nm} tradermark Apr 26, 12:48

I shall see it on Friday. I shall then report back. I shall perhaps write the report in Old Norse. Then again, perhaps not.. ;-) {nm} Facto Apr 26, 12:49

It's opening bigger overseas than Iron Man did. Though that doesn't necessairly translate to huge opener here. I get an ironman vibe too {nm} Dorfman Apr 26, 13:05

Iron Man was grounded in reality, while THOR appears more fantastical like Hulk. {nm} Antibody Apr 26, 13:20

Isn't it about the ancient Norse god, Thor with the hammer - and put him in a contemporary setting? So, quite fantastical indeed :-) {nm} Facto Apr 26, 13:29

Speaking from a female perspective, no way are Thor and the Hulk equivalents. Hulk=Hellboy; Thor+ {nm} maltrinity Apr 26, 13:32

Hulk is really a monster movie with CG creatures. {nm} Antibody Apr 26, 14:38

Ummm, they're all from the Marvel universe and existed side by side for decades. {nm} tradermark Apr 27, 00:19

Thor reminds me more of Chronicles of Riddick than it does any other comic book movie. {nm} BionicMoron Apr 26, 13:28

Must be in part the Asgardian set pieces... {nm} Catzan Apr 26, 13:55

Yes, the comparison is purely visual with the non-Earth sets. {nm} BionicMoron Apr 26, 13:59

Thor to me seems like Superman. Handsome man falls from the sky, makes friends, protects earth from big nasties {nm} JMT-NL Apr 26, 15:23
