Fassbender is awesome in this movie, but I suspect very few will have the chance to see it in cinemas in the US - considering heavy British accents and non-traditional plot development etc.
Katie Jarvis, the female lead actor and protagonist of the movie, has been dubbed the greatest new find from this year's Cannes festival, and in UK cinema the last year.
In all likelihood it won't do much business in the US, but if it had, rap-artist Nas would perhaps experience increased interest in his music, at least the song "Life's a Bitch and then You Die" - as it's featured prominently, almost in the extreme, towards the end of the movie.
If you should happen to live near a theatre that shows this one, I can recommend it per se - but only if harsh and gripping social realism is your cup of tea. It also skewers female, and outside one of the screenings of it at a festival I attended, there was a big crowd of teenage girls waiting to get in (they made up over half of the people waiting outside, but for the earlier screenings it was mostly movie industry people and film critics in the audience - I'm still curious as to how all those teenage girls were alerted to this film being screened at this particular international film festival, and what sparked their interest.)
