stock to reach critical mass in the number of players playing it. And people learn from previous weeks to look for patterns in trading. So you get the drop and the reverse and then people re-reverse, now if you are a power player you playing anywhere from 30 to 70 stocks. But only a few of these will come into play and if you have watched the patterns you play the parameters of them. usually you get 3 to 6 likely flippers but but most traders can't keep track of that many without getting confused so one by one they drop out leaving one stock in play. Since people know the parameters to play once the stock starts to rock back and forth it develops a rhythm of it's own and you pretty much don't have to pay attention to it you just trade in a rhythm. Then more and more people join and it keeps going.
in the old days most of the flipping would peter out usually within 90 minutes do to game mechanics, with the new trading rules instituted buy HSX it became easy enough that only the blind could play the rock. Also with the new trading system with it's built in delay in trading it basically made flipping risk free as there was no risk trades going through earlier then expected or later which used to kill the rock as people got burned on the rock and they could keep up with the speed of trading or focus and remember what they were doing.
For old school like myself and grory and a few others (including a few new young Turks) it was nothing. we learned then the rock was sometimes over 10 points where a mistake cost you 500K+ and if you missed the reverse you out a million. Those used to only last 10 maybe 15 minutes tops as most people couldn't take the damage when they slipped up and once you lose the rhythm you just quit it was just to brutal to try and get it back and there was no guarantee that once you jumped back it the rock was over. We also used to play where we had to keep track 5 or 6 stock rocking at different times and rates and having to keep everything focused. At the end of an hour we would basically high five each other on a job well done. After an hour I was burned out. but man was that ever an exhilarating hour of play.
the current version was as boring as heck. You could sit there and watch football and not really have to worry about missing a flip unless the game became really interesting and they you just waiting for the stock to cycle through and off you went again. It was just grunt work, a trained chimp could have done it.
It's not rocket science.
