not surprised at all

I had battleship shorted at $85 thinking it had no chance at that price.Ā  been annoyed seeing it keep rising, and only now people decide 'hang on, this movie sucks!' lol

mtc uh oh edition 27 battle 16 dictator 14 expect 3 day {nm} notfabio May 14, 12:45

let the carnage begin... {nm} jwammo May 14, 12:49

What!!! {nm} Ryan_Stewart May 14, 12:50

you sunk my Battleship! {nm} tealfan May 14, 12:55

No!!!!!! {nm} jmr May 14, 12:58

Now you're talkin my language. {nm} lhayes37 May 14, 13:00

Those are some wildly different numbers from RS this week. Avengers is clearly impacting demand for other films at this point (Not surprisi ShawnMR May 14, 13:04

no, the lack of interest in non-Avengers movies is affecting their demand {nm} mickpix May 14, 14:02

No, its technically both. ;) {nm} ShawnMR May 14, 14:24

anyone who truly wants to see Battleship this weekend will not be precluded from doing so mickpix May 14, 14:39

I wouldn't underestimate the psychological effect of a huge crowd-pleaser opening up the eyes of some who might otherwise have been interest ShawnMR May 14, 15:53

Except The Avengers isn't good enough to have that effect. It's vastly overrated. {nm} jmr May 14, 22:54

Your opinion is in the minority here. You might think it's overrated, but what matters is that most people don't. {nm} HurricaneKid May 15, 11:22

The Battleship Trailer gives me a distinct Battle: L.A. vibe... {nm} Facto May 14, 13:13

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. {nm} Bionic Moron May 14, 13:20

Battle: LA, 2012, Green Lantern, Cowboys & Aliens, ... {nm} ShawnMR May 14, 13:23

I really did like Battle: LA, so I'm cool w/ comps. {nm} Oleg Max May 14, 13:24

Relating to box office though, Universal won't be happy...hah. {nm} ShawnMR May 14, 14:24

All hands: prepare to dive! {nm} banke005 May 14, 13:26

It really does make a lot of sense considering AVENGERS' performance... {nm} BorderLand May 14, 13:27

Tagging MTC (all 3 day): [BTSHP] 27; [DICTR] 16; [WTEXP] 14 {nm} Paul2k May 14, 13:27

I could see Battleship disappointing, but the Dictator number just doesn't feel feasible to me MiyazakiFan May 14, 14:51

Few things would please me more than to see these 2 awful looking flicks tank. Borat Part 3 and yet another lame CGI crapfest. {nm} goodvibe61 May 15, 09:35

WOW. Even worse then I thought! {nm} thatpj May 14, 14:51

You're forgetting MTC was lower than RS on Avengers and look how that turned out {nm} JDolphin May 14, 15:19

not nearly as big a difference percentage-wise though (only around 15% for Avengers); when MTC is more than 50% lower xiayun May 14, 15:31

I don't think it's going to make RS number, but I also think MTC is just as bad on the low side {nm} JDolphin May 14, 15:47

I personally could see $25m OW for Battleship {nm} xiayun May 14, 18:56

Looking back on my records, MTC has about a 76% accuracy rate so far in 2012. That translates to a max of $35.5m and min of $20.5m for ShawnMR May 14, 16:35

not surprised at all rberryhsx May 15, 00:38
