Posted by: Capitals on May 26, 11:37 in response to Capitals' post Well, a couple of helpful tools.

Stupid browser took all the energy out of me posting a snarky reply. All I will say is I do recall Will Smith choosing to play a homosexual in his first movie role after The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a hit, and it being a big deal at the time, in the early 90's, when homophobia was still quite rampant in the hip-hop community which he was still a big part of. Yet, he took on the role and scoffed at people like Denzel Washington telling him it would be bad for his career. Yet, all these years later him slapping a stranger for kissing him on the red carpet means he's some kind of homophobe? B.S. I can't believe anybody would really believe that. It's absurd.

I think people are underestimating the multiplier for MIB3 and I have math to back me up. austpow May 26, 10:50

And it was second weekend, but Shrek 4, another sequel to a disliked franchise entry had a 5.02 multi for MD {nm} austpow May 26, 10:53

Shrek was a disliked franchise? {nm} PVL Admin May 26, 10:55

No, but people hated Shrek 3. {nm} austpow May 26, 10:57

IMO, MIB3 is not as family friendly as NMUS2, PAND2, or SHREK1-4. It aims a little older, as evidenced by its PG-13 rating. {nm} Paul2k May 26, 10:59

I agree. Good math, but not necessarily the greatest comparables IMHO. Not the same audience for Panda as MIB. {nm} PVL Admin May 26, 11:01

It lessens the impact of your math when you use three examples and then take aware the lowest number to prove your point {nm} dioneta May 26, 11:02

I gave the Numbers both with and without Persia because it was the least compatible comparison {nm} austpow May 26, 11:17

Though it is a better one than Sex and the City, Hangover or Terminator {nm} austpow May 26, 11:18

Right... I didn't say your math is wrong, I said its impact is lessened because you eliminated one of your own examples to improve the numbe {nm} dioneta May 26, 11:35

Here is MIB2's 4 day multiplier (July 4th weekend) as another example of note dioneta May 26, 11:38

Family friendly? What do parents tell their kids when they ask about the slapping incident? I guess it definitely has an impact {nm} karspov May 26, 11:02

?!? Seriously or are you kidding? It will not have an impact. Even the gay community has a brain and can see that the dude was out of line PVL Admin May 26, 11:07

"Even the gay community has a brain"? We're a lot more intelligent than saying something as stupid as that. STONYRN May 26, 11:20

fine, delete the word "even" and read again. I was trying to make a bigger point than to get into a discussion about grammar choices. {nm} PVL Admin May 26, 11:26

I think the "we are offended by Will Smith's slapping" community is straining to find something to be outraged over. {nm} Tanker May 26, 11:30

I'm outraged at the outrage. Since when do I not have a legal right to protect/defend myself with applied and appropriate use of force? PVL Admin May 26, 11:45

I'm outraged at all the outrage. {nm} Tanker May 26, 11:56

Then stop thinking, because it isn't working well for you. STONYRN May 26, 12:19

Hodor {nm} Tanker May 26, 13:55

That certainly fits your avatar. STONYRN May 26, 14:53

"I'm just a humble mother****er with a bigass dick." {nm} Tanker May 26, 17:56

"okay {nm} Tanker May 26, 17:57

"Okay, maybe I'm not that humble." {nm} Tanker May 26, 18:00

"A man surprised Will Smith and tried to kiss him. Will Smith overreacted and slapped the dude." That was easy. Tanker May 26, 11:25

It looked like Will was enjoying it until it got too serious. {nm} elchan May 26, 12:15

Well, a couple of helpful tools. Capitals May 26, 11:31

Oops Capitals May 26, 11:37

What would you tell your children to do if a stranger tries to force them to kiss? {nm} forlorne May 26, 11:40

If it is the opposite sex trying to kiss you, slap away. If you slap same sex, you risk being labeled a homophobe. {nm} Tanker May 26, 12:16

Or if they're black, then the slapper is a racist, or a woman then they're a misogynist? That's how much sense you make. STONYRN May 26, 14:59

Each time you post, I subtract 5 years from your probable age. ..I know you are but what am I?. No, you are. Mommyyyyyyyyyy! {nm} PVL Admin May 26, 15:20

Oh, stop projecting. Just because someone calls you for writing something stupid doesn't mean they're immature. {nm} STONYRN May 26, 16:28

You're right, but the three that followed took 15 years off ya. {nm} PVL Admin May 26, 18:44
