provocative in your choice of words and phrases. However, please be mindful of those of us who do play and the fact that posing questions the way you have can actually affect market movements.

It could be as simple as changing your Quick Reply to something like : "My thoughts on PROME:" or "I think PROME will open in the xx-xx range and here is why:" then putting your analysis inside. That is more neutral and less likely to cause selling/buying while still encouraging the conversation that you seek and that I'm sure we're all happy to take part in.

Why is there the belief that PROME will be so huge? jmr May 28, 19:48

Again, do you need help? {nm} RazorHawk May 28, 19:52

Razor, I think he's a bit like HarryWarden, he may have only joined here to talk about movies on the forums. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 20:04

But hopefully not as annoying as it sounds like he was, apparently :) {nm} jmr May 28, 20:10

Thanks for the tips :) {nm} jmr May 28, 20:26

what happened to Harry Warden by the way? {nm} GMov May 28, 20:41

Since I'm currently on and asked this myself already. He's banned but not permanently {nm} jmr May 28, 20:43

... it's assumed. {nm} Jane_Citizen May 28, 21:25

He got out of hand April 11, and lost his freedom of speech. {nm} PVL Admin May 28, 20:43

Hmm, so Charlize Theron is not a big name? The Alien franchise has always had a strong female lead... elchan May 28, 21:09

CTHER is being more promoted for this weekend'd big release. {nm} jmr May 28, 21:10

People will be surprised how well SWTHM, will do this weekend. I say mostly due to CTHER. {nm} elchan May 28, 21:19

What kind of opening weekend figure do u classify as well? {nm} karspov May 28, 21:23

I'm going to say at least the numbers that MIB3 pulled in for its 3-day. {nm} elchan May 29, 07:57

Everyone, jmr is HarryWarden. Antibody May 28, 22:49

HA HA HA HA HA Jane_Citizen May 28, 23:50

The Alien franchise has a low ceiling? {nm} Paul2k May 28, 20:08

Also, you pigeonhole it as horror, then you pigeonhole it as scifi, comparing it to Matrix and Avatar? Focus your arguement. {nm} Paul2k May 28, 20:10

SciFi-Horror combo {nm} jmr May 28, 20:11

Sci-rror? {nm} accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 20:14

A new genre is born!!!! {nm} jmr May 28, 20:16

I bought my ticket last week and am taking a half day off work to see it. That's a once every three-year thing. . . Abraxas May 28, 20:16

if you take the historical data route, adjusted for inflation, the biggest Alien movie opening was 37M tealfan May 28, 20:24

However, you're also stretching back to Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) which opened in VERY different box office eras. Paul2k May 28, 20:32

These posts to me just scream, I'm short on a stock, why am I not making my money yeeeet?!?! :( {nm} MiyazakiFan May 28, 20:48

Anyways, my thoughts on PROME: Paul2k May 28, 20:59

Comparing PROME within the SciFi/Horror genre to I Am Legend, War of the Worlds and Signs aren't fair because of their respective ratings. accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 21:20

*isn't fair {nm} accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 21:22

Good point. I just don't feel that PROME can be genre-pigeonholed. It's too "event" tent-poley to fit there. But the rating can be an issue. {nm} Paul2k May 28, 21:33

Also, one could argue that the starpower of those movies you cited is far greater than the star power of PROME. accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 21:36

I have heard both friends and strangers Colt 1911 May 28, 21:24

THANK YOU, new best friend, I've been wondering why people are so excited about a franchise that hasn't been good since 1986. austpow May 28, 22:04

Ridley Scott is one of my favorite directors. The film looks amazing from the trailers. Could care less where the source material comes from {nm} Catzan May 28, 22:29

It's been 10+ years since the last Alien JohnnyS2 May 28, 23:17

It was almost 10 years since the last MIB, and look how that went... {nm} accountant_4_Jesus May 28, 23:20

Well, MIB2 was terrible. Then again, so was the last Alien {nm} JohnnyS2 May 28, 23:33

Heh, could care less about the last Alien. Scott's Alien was a masterpiece of horror and sci-fi. Bladerunner...Gladiator...Blackhawk Down.. Catzan May 29, 01:20

I think the trailers have been a slow reveal...perhaps testing told them they needed to show more perhaps they planned it that way. I see Catzan May 29, 01:29

I can respect that viewpoint JohnnyS2 May 29, 09:30

yes, it is...I finally found it again...lol...so tough to be a casual trader... Catzan May 29, 11:54

I guess, just put your HSX dollars where your mouth is. I, personally, am very excited to see PROME and hope it is half as good as trailers {nm} Ryan_Stewart May 29, 07:04
