The problem with the beta for this version is how they treated the players with the beta of Orange.

Posted by: Hooray360 (a.k.a del_XSD_Hooray360) on Oct 08, 04:20 in response to secretstalker's post I disagree. They had a suitable beta period and I think...

TPTB told those that complained about the Orange beta that they had put a lot of time and money and effort and market research into Orange and that was the future of HSX and we should all just deal with it because that's the way things are and they aren't going to change, ever, ever, ever. It didn't matter what we thought of it, this was the way it was going to be from now on. That didn't last just one week as you keep saying, it lasted a lot longer than that.

I made maybe half a dozen trades on the beta of this version. Mostly because TPTB never listened to us on Orange, what would make me think they'd listen to us this time around? They were going to do things they way they wanted, if I didn't like it I could leave. That's the attitude they created with Orange.

Orange lost a lot of players. They got some of them back when they went back to HSX Classic, but a lot of those left when they went Teal. How many days was the board down when they shut down Orange and went Classic? A lot of players realized that they had better things to do with their days during that time. It was an attitude of "Oh geez, not this crap again" when things changed. They may have made a few trades and saw how unwieldy the play was or whatever and didn't look back.

My point is that every time HSX hs made a major change recently, it cost them players. This site as it is now is fine and I'm liking the little tweaks they are making. But for far too many, they have been burned by the changes in the past and won't even give the new site a chance.

Do you notice the decline in trading lately? MoneyMagnet Oct 07, 19:07

The biggest problem with HSX is that they rushed this beta before it was ready and it cost them a lot of players. Hooray360 Oct 07, 19:44

I disagree. They had a suitable beta period and I think the new site is perfectly fine with a lot of improvements. {nm} secretstalker Oct 07, 19:50

Uh, the fact that you could not trade smoothly on a site that gets data from our trading...BIG BUG. BIG PROBLEM. They fixed it but you know Catzan Oct 07, 19:57

It is fine *now*, but it was far from it when they closed down the old site and started this one. Hooray360 Oct 07, 19:58

You're talking about the Orange site which they realized was a mistake within ONE WEEK and reverted to the old site. secretstalker Oct 07, 20:09

Traffic has decreased because trading was slow, ports un-navigable, trading aparatus clunky, the change occurred TFRM2 opening week when Catzan Oct 07, 20:18

I repeat: You're talking about ONE WEEK. Seems like the only ones we lost were those who were on the boards to kibbitz and no longer played secretstalker Oct 07, 20:20

Looking at that internet traffic site Alexa...HSX usage has decerased some...it is not increasing. Summer usage from July on has not Catzan Oct 07, 20:27

I bring it up because many people left over Orange, some came back and then left again when this site lauched and they couldn't make trades. Hooray360 Oct 08, 03:55

Ding ding ding! We have a winnah! {nm} Buckee Oct 08, 05:40

Gawd, aren't you "sucking up"? mysti hsx Oct 07, 20:21

Are you f*cking kidding me? I'm the *first* person to complain when something's wrong or not working. secretstalker Oct 07, 20:34

Oh there is much improvement since startup but how is HSX going to get people lost back? {nm} mysti hsx Oct 07, 20:50

They aren't the cool kids have left and they have no interest in coming back. hey if they can do national polls with a sample size of Vashta Nerada Oct 07, 21:22

I'm sure they'll be doing a lot of advertising once Cantor rolls out and that's directly linked to HSX. {nm} secretstalker Oct 08, 04:48

heh, the players on the feedback board might disagree with the "perfectly fine" part ;) {nm} islander Oct 07, 19:52

Things have always slowed down in September in years past. You're overreacting. {nm} secretstalker Oct 07, 20:11

And the Market Lab seems to prove otherwise... looks like any other day. {nm} secretstalker Oct 07, 20:13

I wouldn't say I'm overracting at all. MoneyMagnet Oct 07, 20:17

I have no idea... I think HSX is more concerned with people trading during the day time than strictly at reset. {nm} secretstalker Oct 07, 20:19

Sadly, day-trading has declined so much during the day that I seldom make a trade other than reaction to news. Flipping a stock these days, grammar Oct 07, 20:55

Sorry, it's my fault. I've been on hiatus since Fantasy Football started. ConrocK Oct 07, 23:14

trading is light becaue they've made it harder to make money ,particularly for small ports. that is all. {nm} MJB Oct 08, 10:43
