I've read every one of the Jack Reacher novels and the plot revolves around the fact that Reacher was an ex-military MP and he is described as a "a giant". I've met Tom Cruise , I'm 5' 7' and Cruise is at least 2 inches shorter than me. I don't care what the IMDB says. The scripts will have to be drastically rewritten
The Reacher series consistenly hits #1 in paperback sales. If you go to Lee Childs blog there are literally thousands of posts protesting Tom Cruise and virtually all readers are boycotting the movie. Huge letter writing campaign. Judging by the trailer there is not much else authentic about the Reacher character the way Cruise portrays him.
Cruise bought the rights to Jack Reacher, cast himself, and threw out the integrity of the story.
Thankful that Cruise didn't buy the Harry Potter rights and cast himself as Hagrid.
