I'm actually always surprised...

 when "writers" screw up a story thats completely thought out already. Completely visualized to the enth degree like max payne for example. Why they choose to go off script in the first place is beyond me. Aside from tweeking the game expierence from it primary role of FPS the rest is handed to you on a silver platter.
