STORY: The film is about Hector, a successful young psychiatrist. But many people he sees are not ill - they are just deeply unsatisfied with their lives. Hector can't do much for them. And this makes him unhappy. "Happiness often comes when least expected". So he decides to set off around the world to find out whether there is such a thing as the secret of true happiness... Hector's search becomes a sparkling adventure where he falls in and out of love with a Chinese prostitute, makes friends with a Buddhist monk, is kidnapped by African gangsters and cures the depressive wife of a Columbian druglord. At the end of his journey Hector's notebook is full. He has learnt 23 happiness lessons and understood where his own happiness lies... "Happiness is being with the people you love".
