Eh, not really, compared to the 1000's of advance sales for midnight, the 9PM's for the first are doing a couple dozen per location

Posted by: notfabio on Nov 16, 12:17 in response to JMT's post I think it's a missed chance... they should have brought...

...and I don't think IOC is enough to fairly describe a # for 30's-40's for TWIL2 this weekend.

Wells: trackings [TWLI2] 84 total awareness, 46% of the totals definitely interested and a 26 first choice. Antibody Nov 16, 11:56

I think it's a missed chance... they should have brought out TWIL1huge ( not just one night ) in the same week as nr 2. Twilight=BIG! {nm} JMT Nov 16, 12:07

notfabio - i have seen your posts with market projections, what are your thoughts? 100+ ? {nm} tbonearelli Nov 16, 12:22

Well I thought MTC's THIS IS IT # was reasonable so don't trade off of me. ;) notfabio Nov 16, 12:25

This is GWTW (yes I mean Gone with etc) for this generation! I meant there were/are opp. for marketing like 'go see nr 1 and 2 for 10 $' {nm} JMT Nov 16, 12:24

Why would Summit/Theaters take away screens for TWLI2? and lose $ revenue they would've made anyways without a a 2 for 1 promo. {nm} Antibody Nov 16, 12:34

early bird screenings ? Midnight double bills ? I don't know... there are numerous creative ways to do that. never mind ;-) {nm} JMT Nov 16, 13:01

Strongly disagree with Wells take on those numbers. Twilight is not a 4 quadrant monster like 2012 however, thatpj Nov 16, 12:19

You seriously think it won't outdo 2012's opening weekend? Did you notice that both RS and MTC has it tracking for over 100 opening WE?? {nm} Facto Nov 16, 12:25

Wells' (updated) take is "between the high 50s and low 60s", so I think thatpj is saying that TWLI2 will do better (and beat 2012's OW) {nm} RogerMore Nov 16, 13:00

It may very well make 60m OD and not get to 100m OW, I expect serious front-loading. {nm} Mattrek Nov 16, 13:24

That number is likely closer to the opening day than the opening weekend. {nm} MiyazakiFan Nov 16, 13:50

If you could help me out a bit - I've always wondered what "four quadrant" or "four-quad" means.. Where does it come from? TIA {nm} Facto Nov 16, 15:15

Facto 4 quadrant encompasses all 4 demographics for movies. I believe: seniors, young adults, teens/tweens and young children are the 4 {nm} Mattrek Nov 16, 16:18

Males under 25, Males over 25, Females under 25, Females over 25. {nm} Antibody Nov 16, 16:24

Thanks, both. {nm} Facto Nov 16, 16:54

Newby here, what do these numbers mean? Thanks {nm} HollywoodTycoon61 Nov 16, 16:36
