Because HSX looks at the numbers of limited's that expand wide. The average four weekend takes of that type of release is "(3.0* WE)+prev.

Movies like that generally have much better word of mouth (Slumdog) and better legs than typical wide released flicks.

Anyone notice ERC's early estimate of 10m for Precious...that's over $16000 per its 629 theaters. And the box office ever expands. =) Catzan Nov 21, 10:05
