So Who Saw What Last Week? (me - It Happened One Night (1934): B)

It Happened One Night: I don't watch a lot of old movies since I'm usually too stuck to modern sensibilties, but this was on so gave it a chance. And other than the obvious signs of the times, it plays pretty well. I think this is the first Clark Gable film I've ever seen. His argument early on with the bus driver was funny (OH YEAH?!?) and the closing gag was nice.
HBO Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert: Wow, this was good! It had 4 Hall of Fame artists perform sets with special guests. The 4 sets were:
Crosby, Stills, and Nash: A-. I was mostly unfamiliar with their music, so this was a nice surprise.
Stevie Wonder: A+. From Stevie breaking down singing Michael's "The Way You Make Me Feel", to the "Higher Ground/Roxanne" medley with Sting, to the Greatest Of All Time BB King, this was near perfect entertainment, dragged down only by John Legend, who has no business singing Marvin Gaye or being considered on the same level as the other talent.
Metallica: B. Good, but the weak point of the show. Ozzy Osbourne and Ray Davies helped, but Metallica just didn't bring it like Stevie or those in the 4th set did.
U2: A+++. Greatest band of all time (for realz!) plus Bruce Springsteen plus Mick Jagger equals Awesome! And how good was Fergie joining in on "Gimme Shelter"?
Other than that it was rewatch week: Star Trek still an A-, and Terminator: Salvation, which for some reason I just seem to like, maybe up to a B.

The Cove A-, Brothers C+, Up in the Air B+. {nm} Jelly Dec 14, 06:31
I agree on the grade for Up in the Air. No matter what some want to say, it's not quite accomplished enough for the A-grade. But B+, yeah. {nm} Facto Dec 14, 06:42
