Why Avatar will be the #1 movie again this upcoming weekend....
Posted by: bennyboy10 on Jan 12, 08:45
Yes, the thought is frigthening- Avatar being the #1 movie every weekend until 2/12, but it's not going away. The group of people that avoid the masses consistent with the opening few weeks of Blockbusters are starting to see the movie, and imagine their surprise when their 330 showing is still packed. Not only are these people finally making it out to see the most talked about (and consistently hyped) movie since...well possibly ever...but some of them are going back to see it a second time. This is very uncharacteristic of this group, but the staying power of Avatar is as effective as is gets.
I'm sure there's a lot more to it than this, but it's just part of my take.
