All the talk about everything being practical stunts, and CGI only used to remove things has me wondering- what about the giant sandstorm?
Was that done using matte paintings and plates? The cars that were lifted up and exploded in the swirling winds, and the bodies and parts that were flung about...did they actually do that with the cars and props?
Also, it was interesting to read that the initial version of the movie had NO dialogue for Max, and that they had to go back and loop/ADR some lines for Tom Hardy to match perceived lip flaps.
