Anyone who says they're "more afraid than ever" has no memory longer than 5 minutes. The mid 90's were filled with comic book adaptations (albeit less recognizable, far more terrible ones), and reboots like DENNIS THE MENACE, THE LITTLE RASCALS and GODZILLA.
This is just another article from someone trying to sound smart because they feel claustrophobic from the amount of recognizable, successful properties in the studio tentpole arena. For their sake, I hope they go watch some Guy Maddin movies or something. More likely, they're the first people to point fingers at the studios but never show up for indies at the box office because all they do is respond to marketing.
