STORY: The film is about Bill Oakland, a famous novelist who was blinded by a car accident that also killed his wife. Several years later, Bill, is a scruffy academic, filled with bitterness, spending his days in a group center for the Blind. Suzanne Dutchman, the neglected wife of a corrupt businessman, begins to volunteer at the center and finds herself reading to a washed-up Bill.
