Ferris Bueller...
Ferris and Cameron now run a successful hedge fund in New York City. It is the 30 year high school reunion and Sloane insists that they attend in a desperate last attempt to save their long ailing marriage. Despite outward appearances Ferris's seemingly perfect life is falling apart: kis firm is being investigated for insider trading, Ferris junior is a wise-cracking smartass who is constantly skipping school and unbeknownst to dad is the founder of a hacking collective under surveillance by the FBI. Jeanie went ahead and married the boy in the police station, who is now a well known 'bad boy' actor in Hollywood. Naturally there's a McGuffin that brings all the protagonists into play at the appointed location on the appointed night and to add spice to the mix Ed Rooney is harboring a grudge that at long last he can wreak his revenge... think Grosse Pointe Blank meets...well Ferris Bueller. Of course the entire cast will return. Unfortunately John Hughes can't script it so I'd give it to Shane Black to come up with a darkly comic script a la Kiss Bang Bang that he could also direct. Oh yeah, and this time there will be a soundtrack album so I can make some of the money that I was denied on the first one.
