Maybe people think the odds of it making more than $10M are low?
It's got a production start date in the near future, so that's a good thing, but it has no distributor and no big name attached.
It's also subject matter that's long out of the public mind involving someone that's been dead for a few years. If Ted Kennedy were still alive and in the public eye maybe I could see right-wingers streaming to it like Hillary's America, but that's not the case.
If it were targeting a right-wing icon, there's a real chance, if it turned out well, that it would get Oscar buzz and all that making $10M attainable, but let’s be real here - it could turn out to be a great movie and the only thing it would get is eviscerated as propaganda.
