Skimmed through the article, and just want to say...
I really don't think the hate for Ghostbusters had anything to do with a female cast. I think that (the feminism issue surrounding the movie) was a construct developed to help generate discussion about the movie whent he studio realized NO ONE CARED ABOUT THEIR $200M COMEDY.
FWIW, I am a white male who loves the original, and I liked the movie. I saw it in theaters and enjoyed it very much. However, I think it's pretty much universally a bad idea to make a big budget comedy.
