I liked this old article that tries to explain why some people (myself included) don't like it when a movie "looks like a live TV show"

It's a long article. Basically, it looks like you're behind the scenes on the set.

Though that works for Billy Lynn since it's set in a war zone and a Football stadium like you see on TV. None of the actors wore makeup. {nm} Antibody Nov 07, 17:26

I've seen Billy Lynn in both formats and the 24fps is less distracting but the 120 FPS also looks much better than The Hobbit in 48FPS {nm} diamondman56 Nov 07, 19:53
