No, I don't think *real* parents who believe in quality parenting would. My wife and I certainly would NOT. It's too weird for us even.

God knows I hope that there are more parents out there who're concerned about the subject matter of this film. Only having seen the trailers this is NOT a film for young children or even young teenagers. It's dark, perverse, weird, and disorienting. The PG rating seems very inappropriate to me. This looks like a PG-13 to me, but what do I know.
Some people probably will take their kids, but I don't think most will.
There are two types of kids movies that do well: 1) "kids" movies which adults are dying to see and drag their kids to just to justify the experience, and 2) "kids" movies which adults don't want to see but kids are dying to see and the parents can't see any reason to say no...and so they take them to it and suffer through it.
If you ask me, Alice is NEITHER. Neither kids nor parents are dying to see it, and neither group will drag the other to it. Oh, it'll open "big" but not epic big (since Avatar people's expectations are grossly out-of-whack. They seem to think that any 3D film with good visuals will be a hit--it will take a 3D stinker or two before they readjust their expectations to more realistic levels).
Will parents really take their kids to see Alice in Wonderland? Fitch3k Mar 03, 22:13
Heh, having not seen the flick, my guess is parents will bring children just like they brought them to Christmas Carol. If it is disturbing, Catzan Mar 03, 22:46
While the bulk of the tickets are by far for adults, there are over 450 tickets sold for Saturday alone at usual. {nm} notfabio Mar 03, 23:24
There are over 600 sold for Friday. {nm} notfabio Mar 03, 23:24
Thanks. How about midnights? {nm} shawman Mar 04, 00:34
I think the legacy of Alice in Wonderland will ensure adults will bring their kids regardless of how "dark" the trailers are numbersix_99 Mar 04, 02:30
Yes they will. {nm} MrsRobinson Mar 04, 04:10
I don't see why not. It's PG. I would take any of my 4 kids to it if we had any 3D here TheSureThing Mar 04, 05:28
I'm thinking the adult audience will be biggest. Parents who bring kids will just add to the totals. {nm} Biff68 Mar 04, 09:09

this website (a forum for parents) indicates supports my belief that many parents do NOT think Alice is {nm} RedBurnett Mar 04, 12:49
