EW: A little more flavor on what happened with Lord/Miller on Star Wars. They wanted Improv Comedy. Kennedy wanted a "touch" of Comedy.

http://ew.com/movies/2017/06/22/ron-howard-takes-over-directing-duties-on-han-solo-film/ Basically they were trying to make a 21 Jump Street Star Wars and the improv that was coming through from the cast they encouraged was pushing it away from key story points in the Kasdan script as they saw dallies.

This would explain how they could get so far into shooting heavy improv can derail a FX heavy production.

If that is true, then i'm glad they got dumped. I wouldn't like a Han Solo improv comedy style..

I agree. It's not like she didn't know what she was getting... unless they said one thing in the interview and did something else on set.

I agree but I don't know why you hire these guys then. Even if they misled and said one thing and did another their resume speaks for itself

It might be possible to do a Star Wars comedy (although I'm not eager to see anyone try) but don't do it with Han Solo.
