As a fan of most of the books in the series, I wasn't a fan of the script I read. This was maybe three years ago. Just didn't do it for me.

So of course the director and the novelist are going to have that opinion of the flick before its release. They have a small financial stake in its success, and they need the first one to be a hit so the TV series and additional films happen.

I'll be giving this a hard pass. Ron Howard sucks (nice guy, though). Also, not a fan of the character changes, reminds me of Preacher S1. {nm} FranklynStreet Jul 21, 11:06
