The big confusion here is that I do not understand how a big difference can exist btw the two if they are completely separate but are apparently weighing the same thing. There shouldn't be such a large difference between the two, if they simply mirror each other and CX is just another investment oportunity of the same movie. What has been said already has certainly gone a long way to clearing up that confusion.
The CX delists at the same time as the moviestocks, and at the same price. So, it seems to me that they should have been similarly priced. What I have come to learn through these posts is that the market is saturated (all users who are going to buy have) like holiday warrants. That makes a ton of sense now, considering that the CX is capped at 10000 shares and moviestocks are 50000 shares. I see now that there OUGHT to be a big difference because the volume of movie stocks traded has the potential of 5x that of CX. So if all players long/short the max allowed, the price ends up different.
But...in keeping with your bookie analogy, I would be curious to know if there are algorythms that contribute to the pricing. Volume alone does not seem to fit, as if it was purely volume, CX would be lower, no? But then again, it's 5x less volume from a higher starting point...ouch, my head is starting to hurt now, and since that is twice in the same day that I apparently said something that was interprettable in another manner than intended, I will call it a day.
What I will say is that I have already had 3 distinct investment strategies for size of port. 2-10 mil, 10-20/30 mil and 30 to 70 mil. I feel that 80-84 mil will bring another addition to my port, in either CX investing or long term movie holding...I haven't decided which is a better next step; which is what prompted this thread. Perhaps that is the source of the suspicion. It is true I am trying to get something out of this exchange, but it is the knowledge of how to incorporate CX into my investment strategy when I hit 80 mil, not the influencing others' trading behavior that may be the first assumption. I'm just trying to do the learning before I make it to the point of having to use knowledge I do not possess.
I sincerely thank everyone for their points of view on the CX/MovieStock pricing dichotemy. I will continue to study it and try to understand it further before investing high percentagesof my port into them...with the exception of delist day...that I understand.
