He doesn't say stupid crap like Spider-Man: Homecoming wasn't "good" because the cast was diverse. As if that is something that could even be qualified. He doesn't scour the internet looking for nasty fanboy sites to back an peurile and divisive claim. Moviesnob is a professional who works in the industry, seems to love the business and loves movies. His opinions are a welcome presence on this board.
And 'leftists' are not some weird monolith who all think the same and do the same things and have the same opinions. However a lot of us recognize an alt-right wingnut racist (BaronDarcon2017) when we see one. And when/if Pacific Rim 2 fails to money domestically we all know he will be all over the board claiming it's because John Boyega figured prominently in marketing. The fact that the first Pac Rim didn't do that great domestically in the first place won't matter at all - just the presence of That Black Guy.
