Annihilation's exit polls in the US were A LOT better than I expected. It got a C cinemascore which has basically its comScore rating too.

my personal experience with the Netflix algorithm: it may think it knows what i would be interested in watching but maybe 50/50 at best

Netlfix's recommendations are mostly based on similar viewing habits with lots of others. Similar content is a smaller part of it
