The-Numbers.com TLJ vs TFA sales of DVD-Bluray #s $45M v. $119.3M for first 3 week... a 37% of TFA sales as reported.

Don't know whether 4k is included, probably.

By units sold TLJ had 2 million units sold vs. 5 million units sold or approx 40% of the sales of TFA.. As noted before by many TLJ split the fanbase and less than half of units sold comparibly bares that out as well. Yes i acknowledge less overall DVD and Bluray sales too.

After watching TLJ Star Wars fans had time to digest, discuss TLJ and the overall displeasure is reflective in sales.  Many anecdotes by fans bought TLJ to try and like the movie but ended up hating TLJ even more.

TFA according to The-Numbers.com $188.6M video sales.. to date..  so first 3 weeks accounted for 63% of total DVD and Blurays sales of TFA...

If the same sales percentage applies to TFA then would only bring it to 71.4M  since TLJ isn't was well recieved I doubt that sales of TLJ will reach that 71.4M

Rogue one earned 44M in first 3 weeks of DVD/Bluray sales.

MovieSnob you said these numbers might not be accurate... if you have different numbers please share. Have you done a new analysis of TLJ? One youtuber calculated the by RT the actually audience score is 24% for TLJ which is much lower than the current 46% since RT doesn't calculate half and don't want to see in their ratings system.

There are many reasons for Solo failure, just more data to back it up.. the backlash is real regardless of media spin.

Wow would love too see how now these last Jedi lovers are going to defend this !! bunty_ketti Jun 06, 20:47

because those numbers arent remotely accurate. They are estimates. Moviesnob Jun 06, 20:51

Can you supply us with accurate # for all 3 movies to compare? {nm} Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 06, 21:16

I can tell you whats non proprietary - hard good sales are down 25% since Force Awakens came out. Moviesnob Jun 06, 21:26

So are you saying Walwart clearanced TFA? Still downward regardless. It'd be nice if disclosed easier, publicly. Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 06, 22:17

Box office is the only sales stat that's public. I've looked for others and it's all very closely held, so much so that I'm surprised MattW Jun 06, 22:52

To what -- other than bigotry and backwardness among disaffected, can't-keep-up yahoos -- do you ascribe these numbers? Thanks {nm} DTXbro Jun 06, 22:19

Simple... Disney didn't produce what the FANS wanted! Disney destroyed the OT, destroyed the legacy of Luke, Leia, Han, Lando etc. Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 06, 23:32

TFA made $2B worldwide and is the biggest film in US Box office history. But fans hated it, sure. {nm} numbersix_99 Jun 07, 01:14

Fans had hope then, LusacFilms hadn't gone full throated attacking fans. TLJ made TFA worse and wrecked the it all {nm} Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 07, 09:36

The fans who have revised their feeling on TFA are by far a massive minority. Where is the evidence? {nm} numbersix_99 Jun 07, 12:47

TFA and TLJ might be flawed and divisive, but they are still superior to the boring, unnesscary, mundane prequel trilogy. {nm} bennyg1985 Jun 07, 05:43

Empire did less business than Star Wars, Clones less than Menace. I sense a trend. {nm} soupcam Jun 07, 08:18

Here is one more TLJ number for you: 5,000 (approximate). bennyg1985 Jun 07, 05:39

Don't waste your time, these people have people brainwashed, they are defending the undefendable. {nm} Filmstardust Jun 07, 07:31

Please explain how my response is an indication of being brainwashed. He asked me a question and I answered it. {nm} Moviesnob Jun 07, 07:48

Thanks MovieSnob your responses were informative, some others are zealous denials of the state of SW. {nm} Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 07, 09:02

No, you ignored my responses which discredit your theories. To be clear, there's no data that I've seen that proves a theory that SW has Moviesnob Jun 07, 09:08

Solo Box Office, TLJ Box Office, polls on SW forums, toy , merch and video game sale declines all are evidence Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 07, 10:01

TLJ box office? 1.3B worldwide, 11th biggest film of all time (unadjusted). Yes it made less, but it's a sequel, which tend to drop. {nm} numbersix_99 Jun 07, 12:49

TLK largest sequel drop ever $700M. Solo currently at 273M and 492 worldwide all time. Solo will come in 900M less than TLJ {nm} Baron_Darcon2017 Jun 07, 17:42

Does this include online retailers? Amazon didn't start selling TLJ until approx. 3-4 weeks after its street date {nm} mantleclinic Jun 07, 08:35
