i'm old school Halloweenie (saw the first two AND Season of the Witch in theaters). this looks fine but doesn't really speak to me as a fan
unless the franchise is gonna go bat**** crazy like Fri the 13th and start sending Michael Myers into space or Times Square, they all feel pretty much the same at this point
